Chicken Manicotti

Hmm…look delicious hah?!?
You must be confused what manicotti is. In Indonesia we rarely find or cook it. But I think we can try this recipe as a new experience and I hope your love one will also love it. Enjoy! ;)

Ingredients:
1 jar (25.5 oz) Muir Glen® organic pasta sauce (any variety) / any pasta sauce (homemade or store-bought)
3/4 cup water
1 tsp garlic salt
1 1/2 lb uncooked chicken breast tenders (not breaded)
14 uncooked manicotti shells (8 oz)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
Chopped fresh basil leaves, if desired

Directions:

1. Boil manicotti not too cooked.

2. Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, mix pasta sauce and water. Spread about 1/3 of the pasta sauce mixture in ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish.

3. Boil or bake the chicken and sprinkle garlic salt on chicken. Insert chicken into manicotti shells, stuffing from each end of shell to fill if necessary. Place shells on pasta sauce in baking dish. Pour remaining pasta sauce evenly over shells, covering completely. Cover with foil.

4. Bake about 1 hour or until chicken is no longer pink in center and shells are tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil.

Note: you can put extra cheese or extra garlic or extra basil whatever you like. Beside, this is not a diet recipe ;)

Serve for 4

What is Manicotti?
Manicotti is a large, tubular shaped pasta with a cooked diameter of about one inch (2.54 cm) and a length of about four inches (10.16 cm). Unlike other styles of pasta, manicotti is usually stuffed with various types of cheeses, meats, vegetables or seafood, and then baked in a cheese or tomato based sauce.
